Day 12, California

So, this morning we woke up in Johan's house in Escondido, CA and were treated to a wonderful breakfast before hitting the road for our final long driving day.

So we hit the road around 9am and we didn't really realize just how much of the drive would be taken up by just getting -to- LA, and then getting past it.  Spoilers, it was a TON of the drive.  We did however take a detour over to San Onofre State Beach to finally truly see that we had made it all the way to where the land ends.

After that there really isn't a whole lot to say about the drive.  Going through the dust bowl is very boring.  We did grab a few nice shots of the more hilly areas we went through.  Though on the way we did hit another driving milestone!

Not a hill, but it is an 18-wheeler with giant teeth on the front.

We finally made it into Berkeley around 6:40 pm and found our way to bionic's apartment.  He treated us to some great Thai food and now we're just chilling for the night.  Tomorrow is going to be a nice easy day of visiting family and friends with very little driving, and Saturday and Sunday will be the final 2 travel days up to Portland!  This trip has been absolutely amazing, but I'm really looking forward to getting to stay in the same place for a while :)

Nom, Thai.
